lyrics
Turn the light off I can handle it
Even in the dark I'll be whole
Seek the doorknob, I am trembling
Even in the sun I am cold
It's her black eyes watching me, silent sadness
She's now breathing through the frame, silent madness
Shadows crawling on my skin, losing balance
She stands right in front of me, now I'm breathless
Oh I'm watching as she's fighting for my soul
Synthetic fear is running through my bones
There is nowhere to hide
The venom's already inside
Nena drew an aching soul through her sadness
What's been going through her mind? Blooming madness
Mama passed it on to me with no awareness
I was born with that in me, it is hopeless
Oh I'm watching as she's fighting for my soul
Synthetic fear is running through my bones
There is nowhere to hide
The venom's already inside
Beating through my heart, tearing me apart
She was painted on a summer night
All the trees were standing still
Her creator is the same as mine
Through my blood flow she can feel
I bought the album on vinyl basically just to have the EP on physical format, I'll be honest.
This is not to say the album is bad (it is absolutely amazing) but the EP blew me away and is honestly one of the best and most versatile albums I've listened to in a while and the vocals are just insanely good.
If you like ExLibris you'll love this band too, no doubt thebluemeanie
This is the first progressive metal album I've loved in quite some time. Phenomenal songwriting, instrumental virtuosity, and stellar vocal performances make this one of the most unique and strongest releases of 2020. Holdeneye
It's a great blend of different metal genres and styles, with great solos in basically every song, just that touch of oriental influences that feel natural but not artificial and above all else, performed by the beautiful, haunting voice of Jelena Dobric, who uses it in a way that is not the typical operatic approach as we are used to from other female-fronted bands wormys_queue
